donna318 asks:

what is the best substrate for cellular respiration of yeast? why?

etutor answers:

I'm not sure there is a 'best' substrate for respiration in yeast - just suitable and unsuitable ones. Yeast would normally use glucose, sucrose or maltose for respiration - those are the sugars they would normally encounter.
