claireol asks:

Does anyone now why diarrhoea is a symptom of lactose intolerance?
Thinking in osmosis and diffusion terms. MAny thanx.

etutor answers:
The diarrhoea is not connected with osmosis and diffusion. It is a result of fermentation of the undigested lactose by bacteria in the gut which results in the production of gas which produces abdominal pain and diarrhoea
