windspeed on the rate of transpiration

Ali19 asks:

how would the use of a potometer be used to carry out an investigation on the effect of windspeed on the rate of transpiration of a leafy shoot.

etutor answers:
The usual way is to set up a fan (or hairdryer set on cold) at different distances from the potometer. Distance will be inversely correlated with speed, but if you have an anemometer, wind speed can actually be measured, which would be better
