popcorn3344 asks:

Can recombinant plasmid enter the bacterial cell by endocytosis or phagocytosis?

etutor answers:

The exact mechanism whereby plasmids enter cells appears to be unclear at the moment. We are talking about very small things here (big molecules, in effect) and so it is unlikely to be by endocytosis or phagocytosis, which relate to much bigger objects like bacteria.
