ams161 asks:

im doing a planning exercise about the effects of phosphate ions on cell division in root tips. Anyone have any good suggestion about how to do this? or better has anyone done this plan before?? thanks xXx

etutor answers:
This is a very unusual experiment! It is possible to observe cell division in root tips onion or garlic - you should be able to find the method in textbooks or on the web. You could grow the roots in different concentrations of a soluble phosphate to see the effects, but i have never done this experiment or seen it referred to!
