Hi, how do i convert numbers to grade letters from a list of test scores, i no u have to use vlookup, but im not sure how. Also do u kno any tutorials type practive goes you can do on the net ?.
Thnx, Dave :)

etutor answers:
Use VLOOKUP instead of HLOOKUP when your comparison values are located in a column to the left of the data you want to find

Searches for a value in the leftmost column of a table, and then returns a value in the same row from a column you specify in the table.

The structure of the funtion is

VLOOKUP(lookup_value,table_array,col_index_num)

where

lookup_value - is the test score you have generated, you can either put the actual value into the function or use the cell address of the value.

table_array - is the sorted table of test scores and their grades. It may look like the table that follows

0 U 25 E 50 D 60 C 70 B 80 A 90 A*

The col_index_num - in this example would be 2, as the first column contains the test scores and the second the grade boundaries.
