Current system & problems: Description of how the system currently operates and problems.
Ask him how the current system works. Does it have problems? What are they? What could be improved? Ask for some existing examples, e.g. the food order paperwork - what the waiting staff write down when taking an order. If possible put these eamples in the appendix.
I can't really think of anything else. If I do, I'll post again.

Do you want the orders stored and if so for how long? Would you like to know what the most and least popular meal is? What the busiest day is? You could use this queries to show the advantages of a computer system (by knowing which meals are popular or not, you can save money and satisfy customers, by knowing which days and hours are popular you can better manage the waiting and cooking staff etc.)
well the new system will track customer details, customer orders who call the restaurant to place orders, basically i need the questions to aky my end user that will be like end user requirments he wnats from the system. anyways thanks for the ideas.
yea i do store the orders, and input the name, address, telephone etc. i dont have to generate a reciept, can u pls tell me questions that is related to this scenario i need like 15 questions. i have to create a menu table aswell, booking table
We are not asking you the questions, we are telling you the questions to ask the end user!
What happens if the booking is a no show?
How far can you book in advance?
How do you track orders?
How do you track bookings? Do you sometimes overbook, and how does this happen?
Does your menu have a 'suitable for vegetarians' label? (which you could add to your menu table as a bit value)
sorri i didnt recognise, btw these questions are supberb really proud of them. is it possible if u could think a bit more questions like 5 more it would be very helpful. i am rushing becuase i have to go for an interview 2morrow and dont have much clue what to say. thanks once more really appreciate it, and thanks to lucy aswell.
How are beverage orders processed and does it differ from food orders?
What's the minimum people for a booking? What's the maximum?
How are tips handled? How do you keep track of tips?
I think that's all I have. I can't believe I came up with so many, I couldn't think of any at the start. Just remember to relate this questions back to the database design.
