Hi There,
I am having problems in starting this essay. I have an overall idea but I dunno how to pad it out to 3,500 words. Can you help me? Here is the question:
Marina Warner argues that metamorphosis defines the fairytale. Critically analyse her argument in relation to fairytales for adults and children. Relate to specific examples.
I have been asked to use Film examples to prove my point. These films are Disney's Sleeping Beauty, The Princess Bride and Star Wars. I want to argue that metamorphosis defines the fairytale as it helps to portray the different message to different audiences. The metamorphosis of the storytelling form from oral to literacy back to oral with film as it is going back to the old teller to crowd format. Star Wars is a fairy tale set in space and told to a Sci Fi Audience in a SFX Manner. Sleeping Beauty is a traditional fairytale hidden by the visual awe of the animation. Princess Bride is a traditional fairytale told in a satirical sense. The metamorphosis of the lead characters are used express the story's meaning such as Star Wars with Luke Skywalker. He transforms from a dependent peasant to an independent intergalactic hero, Westley transforms from a stable boy to a pirate to a responsible hero as a way of maturing and so on.
There is my arguement but I dunno how to set it up or how to truly begin. I am seriously struggling. I need this soon so please respond as soon as possible. All Idea, No Motivation, No way to start.
Thank You Very Much
